Banana Bread Recipe

Banana bread is a classic, moist, and delicious baked good that’s perfect for breakfast, a snack, or a dessert. Here is a simple recipe you can try at home:


  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 4 ripe bananas, mashed
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts or pecans (optional)


  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (180°C). Grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan and set aside.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In a separate large bowl, beat the butter and sugar together until light and fluffy. Add the eggs and vanilla extract and beat until well combined.
  4. Add the mashed bananas to the butter mixture and mix until well combined.
  5. Add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix until just combined. Stir in the nuts (if using).
  6. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top.
  7. Bake the banana bread for 60-70 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  8. Let the banana bread cool in the pan for a few minutes, then transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely.
